La espera

Abstract

Texto dramático de teatro testimonial que relata la historia de cuatro hombres que estuvieron en la prisión de Santa Martha Acatitla, Ciudad de México, dos de ellos por más de veinte años. Para escribir la obra, la creadora yucateca Conchi León trabajó con personas privadas de su libertad en dicha prisión y, a partir de ello, reunió historias de violencia que experimentaron antes, durante y después de la experiencia carcelaria. Este texto narra una historia de libertad, de espera y de esperanza, en un juego escénico que oscila entre la realidad y la ficción. La espera estrenó el 5 de julio de 2018 en el Foro La Gruta del Centro Cultural Helénico de la Ciudad de México, bajo la dirección de Conchi León, con la actuación de integrantes de la Compañía de Teatro Penitenciario Foro Shakespeare: Javier Cruz, Ismael Corona, Héctor Maldonado y Feliciano Mares.

Abstract:
The following is a dramatic text of testimonial theater that tells the story of four men who were imprisoned in Santa Martha Acatitla prison of Mexico City. Two of these inmates spent more than twenty years in prison. To create the play, Yucatecan playwright Conchi León worked with inmates at the Santa Martha Acatitla prison, to gather their stories of violent incidents that happened before, during, and after the prison experience. The waiting is a story of freedom and hope that plays with the borders between reality and fiction. The play opened on July 5th, 2018 in the La Gruta theatre of Mexico City, under the direction of Conchi León and with the performances of four members of the Penitentiary Theatre Company: Javier Cruz, Ismael Corona, Héctor Maldonado and Feliciano Mares.
